Leo the new sax sounds much better! Pro Sax’s do make difference compared to student sax’s – well played.
January 18, 2024 at 4:13 pm #119790Leo,,,,,I declare. Every time I log in to one of your post you just sound better and better. Great job on the high notes. I sense an increase in your “Feeling”for the songs you are doing. Great Job! “My” tendency on this number would be to put a “minor” growl into some parts of the song,,,particularly the high notes,,,,,to give it even more feeling. But that is just me. You are doing wonderful!!! Keep up the good work. I am in a short hibernation at the moment due to cold weather. I do not have heat in my studio room. But down here in the south it normally does not get cold for extended periods. Last two nights were in the 20’s F

PS: by the way where do you live? I am in Baton Rouge, LA USA. Cajun Country,,,but I do not speak french at all. lol ! I am of French heritage from the migration of the arcadian French from Canada back in the day.
January 18, 2024 at 7:01 pm #119796Hey Wayne thank you for your kind words those high notes are a challenge so easy to make a squeak but i try to practice hitting them on a daily basis and that helps a lot the tricky part is that the embrosure changes so much from the middle group to the high group and if the song has a quick beat it is sometimes hard to remember to change position and results in a bad note.
You ought to give the song a try would love to hear your take on it, i listened to Johnny play it many times before i played it, amazing about sax players, everyone has their own sound.
I live way up north from you in central Massachusetts, we have had 15 degrees f for a few days but that is not really so abnormal we just had a messy snow storm wet heavy snow about 4 inches not too bad by our standards. I’m fortunate to have a heated studio so i can always play.
How about this, my Meme and Pepe (fathers side) both came from arcadia in Canada so i guess we have that in common, not to mention our age, i turn 78 in about 3 weeks. nope i don’t speak french either Leo
January 18, 2024 at 10:27 pm #119798Thanks so much, Leo, what a hootananny! Way cool. Love it! You are sounding very confident and even rather jubilant, lotsa endorphins there and feel good vibes! Hang 10 on the keys man lol 🙂
Yikes i seem to have come down with COVID again, but it’s only pretty light this time compared to the last bout nearly 18 mths ago now (Omnicron), we are sweltering through 105.8 F (41 deg C) days and the like down under lately whereupoon my side of the continent. Beach weather ya! Surfs up!
I’ll pull through, i have my songs to protect me. Rockin’ on,
Take good care guys

January 19, 2024 at 8:10 pm #119815Hello Mark sorry to hear you caught covid again, hopefully you will have a full recovery soon. That temp you are having is something else, we on the other hand in the NE USA have the other extreme, it just went below 15 tonight with light snow not sure which i prefer freezing to death or dying of the heat. I think i will go with the cold, my wife went with the heat.
Thank for looking up all the info on “endless” great song glad Johnny put it out there. Also appreciate your kind comments. Take care LS
