All good now thanks can view it. The only reason i needed it was because I am learning it and struggling with timing. Wanted to play along with you to see where I am going wrong.

Ok great Dazza… but what exactly are you seeing on that page? remember, I don’t have the restriction from youtube as you do, so let me know what comes up on your page where that particular video is.

I’m mostly concerned about legal action from BMI/ASCAP/original rights owners, since technically you need a synchronization license to post covers on youtube.

My understanding is since youtube negotiated a blanket ad license to help copyright owners monetize covers via Content ID,

the ones listed as ok/playable in the link may be ok to cover.

but I don’t know; it would be best to check w/an IP rights lawyer.

          BACKING TRACKS:
It’s also important to get permission to use backing tracks; I’ve done that for all covers I’ve
made. Usually the backing track composer just asks you to put a link back to their site in the
description (or pay nominal $10-type fee).

i stopped using youtube months ago & deleted my login account.

I’ve just started using sound cloud – hope their not as bad as youtube,
what i tend to do is remove stuff after a few weeks – hardly anyone bothers to listen to my tracks anyway so shouldn’t have many problems.

Like you i contact people to use their tracks – last time i got refused.
but the tracks i use are mainly out of cd music books.

@ Johnny: I live here in Arkansas USA and both of those videos on youtube say UMG_MK blocked it here in the US on copyright grounds. “I Feel Fine” is working “fine” on Vimeo. If this is going to be a problem for future releases on youtube, it may be a great idea when you send out your e-mails of a new song release to also direct Member’s attention to Vimeo as a back-up. If youtube is going to start giving problems, maybe another great solution would be to expand your presence on Facebook and post your releases there too, provide Vimeo links through Twitter posts, etc.. These are the kinds of things my playing friends have started to do every since they’ve found youtube starting to give them problems and have said it’s working good for them.

ditto – both tunes blocked here in the uk.
looks like all the tracks will be moved to vimeo (soft porn site)
