😎 Has anyone here ever tried taking their Saxophones out into the streets, right into the public, and playing in the open for people? We’ve all seen others do this with different kinds of instruments…….I’ve thought about doing it sometime in the future if I get the “itch” to do it; not doing it with the thing in mind of leaving my case for people to leave you tips or something–it’s something that I’ve always told my wife would be fun/interesting to do just one time to see what it’s like/what kind of response you get.

That would be pretty cool. It is funny, I saw this video when I 1st started playing the sax and thought wow, it would be nice to be that good someday!! After re-listeneing to the video now, I am that good someday! Those were pretty easy tunes (Johnny has 2 of them available). He did some growling but really didn’t do a ton of embellishments during his playing. I would feel confident in doing something like that and that’s only after almost 2 years of playing thanks to the critiques of Johnny and the other members of this saxophone forum!!
Your right there too Michael, look at the email you got accusing you of being fake! Like you previously stated, we are in good hands here!!!

Nope – be interested to know the portable equipment these guys use to play their backing tracks in public?
Overhere in lots of large cities you have to get a licence to play in the streets!
Someone i know who has a band wanted to hire one of these street players for a couple of hours and was turned down cause they made more on the streets in donations!
It’s also popular with musicians doing music at univesity as well, these guys are usually quite good, and i wouldn’t be confident just yet to have a go.
