Home Alt › Forums › Introduce Yourself › 57 YEARS LEARNING TENOR SAX – VIDEO OF SOME PIECES DOWNLOADED
3-minute video of a couple pieces I bought on this web site. I’m also in Johnny’s Major Scale Improv Course.
Love the course and love the site.
I started learning the sax at age 12 and put it away in the Seventies. Finally playing again after seeing Johnny’s site.
couldn’t view your video – was asking me to sign into you tube!
Also anything starting “http:/” is unprotected and could be a fake site!,
safe sites start with “https:/”
It stated the video was private. When uploading you can select- Public, Unlisted, Private. I use- Unlisted for the purposes of sharing an upload on this site. Someday I may do a Public video, but it’s not something that appeals to me at my stage of development…

Sorry – Maybe this works? I copied the url address.
William, that link worked. Glad you pulled that horn out again. You’ll have to tell us about it, and your setup(mouthpiece/reed) that you like. Got a good solid tone there for us to enjoy. Look forward to more uploads!
Yep – i can view now! Well played William!
probably get accused of going off track (in terms of thread/post whatever)
I need to invest in a better recording setup.
I’ve only got an i-touch, pair of tiny speakers (2 inch by 2 inch) to play my backing track on!
So i have to have my speakers next to the i-touch, and my sax about 2 to 3 feet away, but like
some members say – its ok for the blog.
But – yes, i agree with Kevin you have a strong tone!
Thanks for the compliments Kevin and James, but I need a lot of work!
Kevin:
Most of the time I switch mouthpieces back and forth between an old 5-star Otto Link metal and a Meyer hard rubber medium chamber. I played the Meyer in the video.
Reed: #3 Vandoren Java for both mouthpieces.
I have some old plastic Brilharts, one metal “Arnold Brilhart” I rarely play,
A Yamaha 4C I don’t like, And one old chewed-up British 4-star mouthpiece (was my favorite) that I finally retired.
James:
I’m using cheap 6-inch computer-speakers. I had them right next to the camera or you wouldn’t have heard the backing tracks.
