I need some serious advice. I aquired a Carl Fischer low pitch saxophone from 1914. It needs a general overhaul. It has no neck though. I am unsure of what type sax it is, alto tenor or soprano. Serial number is 63759. I need to know which type it is before purchasing a neck. A picture is included. Thank you very much.

wow that’s an oldie! looks like a tenor. a repair shop should be able to put an aftermarket neck that will fit it.

If you look here, it looks almost identical to mine.

The one I posted with a neck is a C melody sax, from around the same age as mine. So my question is, is mine a C Melody, and if so, where can I get neck for mine?

Do you have a local repair shop? I have a great shop near me, you can always shoot them an email from their contact page to enquire: http://massullomusic.com/ I would start there. Not ever having a C melody I’m not sure cause they haven’t made them in decades so finding a neck may prove very difficult. Doubtful anyone is reproducing new necks for an instrument that isn’t being made anymore so you might need to keep looking online.
