The Guardala King Tenor Mouthpiece is my best mouthpiece. I recommend it. I’ve been working on my sound and the King is the King.
September 24, 2020 at 1:33 pm #98338No! The Studio is the best! Ha ha! I do like the king model, I had an original long time ago and sold it, I kick myself daily! Glad you’re enjoying yours!
September 24, 2020 at 4:55 pm #98340glad you like it William. I bought an original one many years ago cause I feared losing my MBI and so wanted a back-up that was reasonably close. At the time, I actually thought the King would be the brighter one but no, it’s not as bright as the Michael Brecker model.
Since the Copper reeds came out I have really been using my MBII Fatboy a lot more. With the Onyx reed I didn’t like the Fatboy cause this combo not only didn’t feel great but gave me tuning issues.
but now the Fatboy and Copper are a great setup! My upcoming video (Cleo’s Mood) and some other very recent uploads such as Bring It On Home and Georgia have given me a sound that I really don’t think I would have gotten with any other setup combo that I presently own.October 14, 2020 at 12:31 am #98829Heya guys check this out: Thoughts?
October 14, 2020 at 11:45 am #98839well, you can make a mp out of just about anything I guess.
years ago when I was buying a mp for a baritone sax I had for a short time…
I was in a large music store and selected several to try in the private room.
as I was going in the guy says here’s another one you might like to try, and handed me a very light, plastic baritone mp.
the brand was “Bari” and he said don’t worry, it’s only about $12 and if you decide you don’t like it you can always use it as a door stop!well, turns out I chose it over all the others of which several were in the 100’s of dollar range.
so it’s hard to say until you actually try one of them…lesson learned! -
