      😎 Hey Guys,
Just wanted to drop a line and say that it may be a little while before you see me do any blog uploads or anything like that..I have to go out-of-state to deal with a family emergency; so I’m not quite sure what’s going to happen in terms of time table—don’t want anyone of the terrific members here on Johnny’s site thinking I have disappeared LOL
I’m kind of “weary” of packing my Saxophones in their case and taking them with me on an Airplane flight–the thought of them getting lost or damaged? 😯 Anyone got any experience in taking their Saxophone with them on an Airplane?

Hey Michael, thanks for the update.
Don’t put your sax in general baggage, it will get damaged by the gorillas. I’ve been thru it all. Some airlines will make a bigger fuss than others. The best thing to do is take it with you on board and put it in the overhead. Unfortunately a regular tenor case is too big for this but the alto can make it. Maybe just take your alto with you. If taking your tenor the next best option is tell them at check in you want to hand it off to the guys at the door of the plane, remind them it’s a very expensive instrument and it CANNOT just go into regular baggage, as you get on the plane there is someone there to hand carry it to the luggage, this way it doesn’t get tossed around by the gorilla guys.

Thanks Johnny–I have decided not to take my Tenor…it’s simply not worth the risk. I’ll miss playing it for a while of course, but much better to know that it will be here waiting for me, as well as my wife will be waiting for me 🙂 when I get back. In terms of when that will be, I don’t have any answers right now. I was going to upload your song of “Just the Way You Are” this week….I have the solo down 100% pack 🙂 I wanted you to hear how my new Custom MBII sounds….a new Trevor James Alto is still coming my way; just go thrown a temporary curve ball and that’s all. I watch your video of the review a lot and the suspense is killing me! One advantage that I do have though, is knowing that I’m ready to make that “jump” into a pro model Sax. Would you consider the Trevor James line of Saxophones that I’m looking at to be a pro model Sax or just a high-quality Sax? From the sounds of it in your Careless Whisper song–which I have learned too as well as your solo with Altissimo in it 🙂 sure sounds like my wait is going to be richly rewarded! I checked with the airline and they’re going to let me take my alto on the flight with me because of the size of the case, it fits fine overhead. The agent I talked to said he would be a little “paranoid” about it too LOL

Not sure when I’ll be back on the site, leaving tomorrow to help my family out west. I’m hoping, when I get back, you’ll have “I was meant to Love Her” as done by King Curtis that you we’re working on. The local hospital over there hired me as a traveling RN so I can still work. Talk to you all in time soon!
