Thanks for sharing, i do a similar interval exercise every day, by going down the sax in this order from middle B

        B
        B A
        B G
        B F
        B E
        B D
        B C

and then back up to middle B

        C B
        D B
        E B
        F B
        G B
        A B
        B

The reason i do this exercise is as a fingering exercise (most of the time, i don’t even need to blow into the sax) , to check that my fingers are staying close to the keys and not wildly coming off them,

and also to check that as a new finger presses down on a new key, the rest of the fingers on BOTH hands don’t move.

The best exercise to show you know a scale inside out, is to play the sequence 1 2 3 1, eg C major, starting on Low C

          C D E C
          D E F D
          E F G E
          F G A F
          G A B G
          A B C A
          B C D B
          C

          AND then going back down

          C D E C
          B C D B
          A B C A
          G A B G
          F G A F
          E F G E
          D E F D
          C

If you think you know your scale inside out, and you cant play that sequence of keys without thinking, then you are cheating (deluding) yourself that you know your way round that scale, or any other scale
