      Valuable lesson re: Recording Your Saxophone:
      I have Garage Band. For daily recording I made an empty track on Garage Band just for recording my sound. For recording I have an audient interface (iD14), An AEA TRP Ribbon Preamp, and a Royer 121 ribbon microphone. So I don’t sound like I’m in a bucket I place the microphone right next to the bell of my sax and I turn the pre amp down to where on the garage band track I see a very thin recording track and then I make final adjustments as I go along.

        sounds good i hate garage band for that reason , it never sounds right, i used to have a PC and a simple stock sound recorder it was way better and simple

          I had similar experiences with garage band, horrible mix down tools. I ended up just getting Logic ProX and have been every happy with the results.

            I find them all the same. it’s just what you need because the recording software doesn’t effect your sound, it’s all in the chain between your sax and the computer…..so mic, mixer, pre-amp etc are the important things. the software programs will vary in the bells and whistle department tho.
