I finally got around to buying Europa from Johnny and was curious if any members have been working on learning it/on which Sax you’re gonna play it? I plan to start learning it on Alto as soon as my rehab is done on the Alto. I know it’s really popular on the Tenor but I think this song would sound really great on the Alto Sax too, very expressive. The Alto is a fun, fun Saxophone 🙂

Hi Michael I’m working on a Barry Eastmond piece. I’m also thinking about Johnny’s “Sway”

I have been slowly working on this one but it’s tricky. I recently did a two song set over two nights at a concert where I did Sway amd The Wonder Of You (Elvis). Was pretty cool. Hope this attached pic sticks in the post.

            Hi Good People,
I just checked out Johnny’s “The Wanderer”. I highly recommend the Tutorial that explains the scales used in “The Wanderer” like the E pentatonic and main notes in the song and how to make your own solo. So “The Wanderer” along with the tutorial will be my music study for this week and the next.

Sounds great guys, would be cool to see some of it when you can. As soon as I’m done with my rehabilitation I will be posting, I actually have my appt. later today at 4 pm. It’s either today or next week that I’m getting the tendon under my tongue clipped off, they didn’t clarify that with me-so I’ll have to wait and see.
@ William: Lots of people tend to shy away from working on ‘technical’ stuff like their scales and everything else that goes along with it…man, what a mistake. As soon as I’m fully recuperated I was planning on posting in the ‘Saxophone tips’ some cool stuff that I was taught regarding things we can do to get more out of our scales/chords when we practice them v.s just playing them like everyone else does; which we all know is very boring.
