Johnny, have you ever considered doing anything like “A day with Johnny Ferreira?” Having a day where all of us guys who wanted to could come and spend some time with you in person? Like a one day seminar, where we just get to talk to you and hear you in person. Personally, I’m a hunter and I pay good money to go to places in the U.S. to hunt whitetail bucks. I’d pay to come to Canada and get to hear you play something on MY sax, and let you hear me play a scale or two and make an observation. I’d consider it an INVESTMENT in my saxophone playing. I just think it’d be neat. For example, set a date in 2016 to come spend an evening with Johnny F! Sign up now, limited space available, (only taking X amount) such and such motel conference room, book your room now, registration fee $XXX. Just an idea. You could do a one day, with 2 sessions, or an evening session. Also, it could be during the week (I know musicians weekends are busy- and the guys who really wanted to come would schedule their time so that they could) I know I’d love it! LOL! January 16, 2016 at 2:08 pm #31035That’s a slick idea for sure Steve, some of us had mentioned to Johnny doing something of the sorts before; kind of like a Saxophone Jam session. How fun that would be, not just to hook up/meet Johnny in person but also connecting with other members 🙂 Everyone take their time at playing for everyone one else, etc.. Speaking strictly for myself, I would definately do it, would need some advance notification for sure. Trying to get a last minute plane ticket is very expensive. I don’t buy plane tickets unless I can get it at least 3 months ahead of time. I’m a little paranoid about taking my Tenor with me on an Airplane, the alto fits right overhead. Most Air Lines just take the baggage and toss it in the line…not going to have anyone toss my Sax!

January 17, 2016 at 10:47 am #31105I do live events/webinars all the time; in-person you get much much lower turnouts. I do think that online live WEBINARS (using gotowebinar.com or google hangouts) would be a great idea; I’ve done several thousand. The right format would be 60-90 minute topics, with a $47-$97 price point; then sell archived videos as a course ongoing after live webinars.
In-person seminar events would be an epic fail idea. Renting space at a hotel is $3-$5K minimum. Doing online webinars is the right answer, and Johnny you could easily triple your sales $ if you do them the right way. Agree re “play along sax clinic” a good idea, for online w/webinars. You can even show skype-like video, g2w is just $89/month for up to 100 attendees:

Yes, I started working with him now in Jan., we had our first private lesson on Jan. 4th, it was great 🙂 He pointed out the “good, bad and ugly” LOL Most of it was good. We meet again now first Mon of Feb., starting in March we’re going to meet every week, setting those funds aside out of my tax return. Yes, I’m from Arkansas. There’s 3 main highways that come down from Arkansas to NE Louisiana, all of them can take me straight to New Orleans.

Can’t saying that I can’t, just don’t know yet the particulars of when you’re going or for how long. However, if you come through Delhi (Between Vicksburg and Monroe) we will definitely hook up and play together. I’m sure there’s something you could contribute to my playing, as I am way, way, away from being able to play in the streets of New Orleans!! January 20, 2016 at 10:30 am #31277I guess the reason why I haven’t done a live thing yet is because of the heavy organization and planning that’s needed and I’m in and out so much it’s very hard.
The webinar sounds like it would be a good thing for many here and I could swing that.
Hey JC could you email me with more of your helpful insights since you have done so many of these? I have attended a couple myself but have never hosted one …yet!cheers
