Hi – I’m having trouble ordering; it’s not your site; though it’s a known paypal issue for some people, re paypal hangs during login after checkout via API not passing order through; I tried w/both FF/chrome… (I have same issue on other sites w/paypal). like this: https://www.google.com/search?q=freezes+at+paypal+checkout
I tried repeatedly; now there’s 7 “pending” orders in my history (you can cancel them). Can we do it manually; eg let me know what email to use to send you $ via paypal, and I can send you $ directly via ppal and let you know what I’m ordering? (then you’d need to enable download links for me).
Apologies for the hassle, I tried 7x on my own but it won’t log me through to my paypal acct. I’ve called pp repeatedly but no fix; I’ve run into this w/other sites too, so it’s not just yours. I occasionally see this from my customers too, is pending-status paypal attempted orders that don’t get processed.
after clicking to order here, i get forwarded to paypal, when trying to login to complete the payment, it just hangs after I click login; it’s a paypal api/cart issue. i can login to my paypal account fine via paypal.com, it just won’t let me login from shopping-cart forwarding from here (and other sites). anyone else run into that?
thx,
kenDecember 3, 2015 at 11:10 pm #28585Thanks for the info Ken
I’d like to do what I can of course
Have you tried different browsers?
Please do that if you haven’t aleady
As for doing a payment more directly it is totally possible…
1. Click the donation link at the footer of my website and make a donation equal to the price of the item you want
Make sure you include your selection in the notes so I know what link to send you2. You can also make a direct payment within PayPal to my PayPal account which is:
Saxjohnny@johnnyferreira.com
Again, include your item choice in the notes section so I know what to send youDecember 4, 2015 at 7:01 am #28589hi Johnny, thanks, will do re sending $ directly to you via paypal.. I’d tried both FF/chrome, same problem. thanks for all you do!
update: it went through this time, I ordered 2 songs; all’s good. mysterious; some days it works, others not; it’s a known paypal bug
December 4, 2015 at 7:15 am #28595btw thanks for a great job on the ‘Winter Wonderland’ track + music; it looks easy to play; will try and make a video…nice work. and happy holidays 🙂
December 4, 2015 at 2:09 pm #28615winter wonderland was the most fun of the 3 I did this year.
it’s got the most chords etc but still quite easy, and I think the solo will help to open up anyone’s eyes on how to construct a nice and simple solo over a typical chord progression.
have fun and good luck!December 7, 2015 at 8:16 am #28710J – you did a nice job on the solo; thanks for including it in the transcript. It fits the song perfectly; good to learn from. If I’d tried to solo I’d just have noodled around on the melody a bit (doing mismatched jazz/blue minor 3rd riffs sounding badly), your solo sounds original and much better than how I’d have done. Good lesson on matching a solo to the music style.
December 7, 2015 at 10:57 am #28725thanks, that’s the thing we cover in the Major Scale Improv Course
if/when you study the solo closely just look at the riffs and how they relate to the chords
you won’t see any mismatched minor 3rds but notes that are related to the chord being playedDecember 7, 2015 at 5:49 pm #28740good point, I’ll likely get that course too…I remember 30yrs ago in highschool jazz band as lead alto, I’d write out a ‘stack’ of whole notes at each chord change to help me remember a group of 4-5 notes to base the solos off of, eg G A Bb D/ whatever, so on lead sheets I’d have reminder main notes of each chord to play from.
nowadays I just write out short in-key 4-6 note riffs to practice, eg in Peter Gunn theme & Pick Up the Pieces (highly recommend those 2 to everyone, great backing tracks + note-for-note solo transcripts & sheet music)
thanks for all your tips, they really help
