Hi… new here, and new to saxophone and wind instruments at all. Having played piano and guitar for some time in my youth, I decided to discover the world of the saxophone many years ago, when I finally could get a Yamaha tenor. Sadly, lack of time and motivation slowly led me to give up in my beginners stages… now I’m up and running again. This site has been really helpful in my re-entrée, must say.
Welcome Marc…I’m new on here myself. I play alto but had my eyes and ears on the Yamaha yts-875exb tenor. Which Yamaha tenor did you get? It appears to be black lacquer.
Hi, Ken… and thanks for your welcome. It’s a standard YTS-23, gold laquered. I assume the lighting (or lack thereof) on the pic made the effect that seems to be a dark horn. I used to have a YAS-23 as well, but only played it a couple of times… I passed it along to my daughter, who showed little interest in wind instuments and eventually sold it away a couple of years ago.
