going to try out a yamaha 875ex

and a mark vI , which is nearly the same price as the 875.
The repair guy in the shop was telling me, you have to try out a lot of mark Vi’s before you find one you like as they are so different, compared to buying modern horns (try several of them and you can hardly tell the difference) the repair guy was telling me all the problems with old horns (put me off buying them, he was saying modern horns are generaly better built, and easier to play, and you have less problems with keys being out of tune.
It wasn’t all sales talk, as the shop sells modern and some vintage horns, just being honest.
Apparently the new range of selmars are cheaper as part of the work is done in asia now, but they are aimed at the student market, so i wouldn’t gain anything there.
