my sax teacher does loads of gigs, and before he does a
gig he checks out the room acoustics, that decides which
type of mouthpiece he plays on his selmar!
So if your mouthpiece doesn’t project very well, could be
worth keeping for playing in small rooms?
I’ve got 4 mouth pieces for my alto sax
rubber selmar Solo – which i bought for doing grades
metal guardalla king – rock & roll
theo wanne rubber kalli – rock & roll
theo wanne his latest blue art Durga , in my photo,
which knocks spots off the metal guardalla
when it comes to playing in my house – i only use
the selmar solo – the other 3 are too loud for the
small rooms i play in, playing soft on them is equivalent
to playing loud on the solo.
