Otto Link Mouthpieces

One of the biggest selling metal saxophone mouthpieces in the world. These are easy to play and are available in a wide range of facing sizes and for those reasons highly recommended for someone switching over from a hard rubber mpc.

Unlike the Guardala which is only available for the tenor sax, Otto Link mouthpieces are made for soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones and go all the way to 10*.  Not sure how low they go but anywhere around 4-6 is a good place to start. The most popular size is the 5* right in the middle.

As I explained in the saxophone mouthpiece guide, the higher the number the larger the tip opening. Most players preference fall into that middle range opening size but it depends on several things and the reed strength will play into it in a major way.

Saxophone mouthpieces are one of those things that you can read about forever and learn about the several elements that go into making it’s characteristics but at the end of the day you simply just need to try one on your sax and see if it’s right for you or not.

I was lucky when I was searching around for something new, I was able to try a friend’s and so I ordered one knowing how it was going to feel.
