I have the Meyer 402-MR-5MM Alto Mouthpiece that I got recently with a Rovner Ligature which seems to fit better that the metal mouthpiece, However , I think that I need to be careful in how tight I put it on , is that correct?
yes, tighten it slightly, just enough to hold the reed on securely. Over tightening it will choke your reed and make it hard to play properly
that is what I was experiencing . I am hoping that it was that and not the mouthpiece. This can get expensive. Sorry for the elementary question.
Also, I am looking at a Vintage Claude Lakey 4*4 Alto mouthpiece from the 1970’s I here that these are pretty good . Vinny
