Hello, I’m a beginner on the saxophone. I am 70 years old and since I retired I have more free time and I want to play the saxophone, an instrument that has always helped me. I bought a used alto saxophone to begin with. I rely heavily on your advice not to take bad habits. I will have to join a conservatory in the coming school year.

Bonjour Christian. Sorry for the late reply. Picking up a sax at 70 ?….GREAT !! Alto is a good choice. Tenors and Bari’s don’t seem so heavy but after time can cause problems. Bon chance !! Jak
