Hi, i’m working on this song now,but every time i listen to my recording it sounds too much strait, without soul, or how should i say. It just sounds way different than Johhny’s. So anyone can help me with some tips, how to add some magic. Also when i listen how Johhny play it,i can’t figure out what extra notes he is adding to song to sound more full.Grace notes, mordents,…?
Or maybe is problem that i just don’t play long enough yet. Will post video soon…

    Thanks in advance,

    Simon

Try more articulation, you find on some of Johnnys music it is
not the same as he sounds on the demo, he is a pro and he is putting
is own “slant on it I think, what I do I play a few bars and try to
copy the way Johnny plays them, and then move on to the next few bars
and add my own feel to it, just keep practicing on these playalongs
and it will slowly come to you.

    yes, exactly right smicker…
Simon, post it and we should be able to say something more definate but beleive me, I don’t do that many different things as far as ornamentation. most of the extra ornaments I do that I don’t include in the notation is just trills, mordents, and grace notes maybe.
some others are just fall-offs and run-ups (fast)
also, it’s amazing what just jumping the octave once in a while can do to lift the music.
no, I don’t add all this stuff in the notation because it cloughs it up and makes it harder to read.
you can find lessons on trills etc on my blog.

    Hello Everybody,

I just bought the backing track for this song that I must practice for this Friday (it’s my wedding 🙂 ). I thought the music sheet was coming in the package. Since I’m a beginner, it would help me a lot to have notes and not have to learn it by ear.

Any idea where I can find a beautiful version like the one played by Johnny?

Same question for Stand by me. I like his version.

    Thanks,
    Alex

Why didn’t you buy Johnnys version, you get the sheet music with the track.

Alex sorry I’m not sure what you mean
If you got my track then the sheet music is included and accessible from the same page as the MP3 audio backing track
