If you are a complete beginner start here. The first lesson shows you how to take the sax out of the case and they move on to showing you the fingering. How to Put the Reed on the Saxophone Mouthpiece

Properly placing the reed on the mouthpiece is a delicate procedure. If it’s not perfectly in place it can make your efforts way more difficult than they have to be.

Fingering Lesson 1

C Major Scale  – Part 1

In this video is your very first Fingering Lesson which will show you exactly where to place your fingers on the sax and what the notes are. By the end of this lesson you will know where 7 of your 8 fingers go and you will be able to finger and know all the notes of a C major scale and know how to read the notes on the musical staff.

 

C Major Scale – Part 2

In this video (part 2) you will learn how to execute the the C major scale with a simple exercise involving only your fingers. By the end of this lesson you will be able to play the C major scale and part of a well-known song!

 

Fingering Lesson 2

D Major Scale

Moving right along from the C scale we will learn 2 more notes as we look at the D scale. Also, a few more  new musical terms. There is a second video on this lesson page that discusses the D major chord and related exercises.
